Notice of Setting a Medium-Term Target Toward the Realization of Carbon Neutrality by 2050

TOKYO OHKA KOGYO CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Japan/President: Noriaki Taneichi, hereinafter the “Company”) announced in February 2022 that it would aim to achieve “Net Zero” GHG emissions by 2050 toward the realization of carbon neutrality. Accordingly, the TOK Group has set a new medium-term target to reduce approximately 14 thousand t-CO2e of its CO2 emissions (total of scope 1 and 2), which is equal to 30% of total emission in 2019(47 thousand t-CO2e), by 2030.

The TOK Group upholds the management vision to become “The e-Material Global Company™” contributing to a sustainable future through chemistry to achieve SDGs under the long-term vision “TOK Vision 2030.” In January 2022, the TOK Group announced its endorsement of the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). The TOK Group has also been working to reduce GHG emissions in the semiconductor value chain and participating in the “Semiconductor Climate Consortium (SCC),” composed of companies in the semiconductor value chain and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), as a founding member since November 2022.
